Herb Recipes

Although the term “herb” can be hard to define and definitions will vary depending on the source, in general, herbs are considered plants with savory or aromatic properties that are used for flavoring and garnishing food, medicinal purposes, fragrances, or spiritual reasons. Herbs do not include vegetables and other plants consumed for macronutrients. When used in culinary applications, the leafy green or flowering parts of the plant are used. As a culinary term, “herbs” differ from spices as spices are produced from other parts of the plant, including seeds, bark, roots, and fruits. When used in medicinal or spiritual applications, herbs may encompass any part of the plant that is used, including the leaves, roots, flowers, seeds, bark, and other components.
